Recover Guyana is excited to announce the upcoming Water Purification and Sustainability Initiative at West Demerara Secondary School in January 2025. Supported by the Greater Guyana Initiative (GGI), this project aims to install a modern water purification and cooling system to provide clean, safe drinking water to students, teachers, and visitors. The initiative addresses critical environmental challenges by reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles while fostering a culture of sustainability and health within the school community.
This project builds on Recover Guyana’s successful 2023 SHOUT competition, where Queen’s College student Vasanna Persaud implemented a similar system, significantly reducing plastic waste.
