Georgetown, Guyana – On this International Women’s Day, Recover Guyana proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of women across the nation and highlights the contributions of three of its core executive members who have been recognized as 2025 Influential Women Leaders Awardees.

The honorees, Mrs. Naudya Hoosein (Second Vice-President), Mrs. Francina Duncan (Secretary), and Mrs. Mahadevi Doobay-Girdhary (Director of Community Engagement), have been integral to Recover Guyana since its inception, driving initiatives that uplift vulnerable communities and promote sustainability.
Mrs. Naudya Hoosein – Second Vice-President
A strategic leader, Mrs. Naudya Hoosein steers multiple committees within Recover Guyana. As the current Chairwoman of SHOUT, she has played a pivotal role in youth advocacy and environmental education. She is also one of the founding members of the SHOUT committee, championing initiatives such as the Water Purification Project and Hydroponics for Sustainable Agriculture. Her vision and leadership continue to inspire change, ensuring a greener future for Guyana.

Mrs. Francina Duncan – Secretary
The backbone of Recover Guyana’s administrative operations, Mrs. Francina Duncan has been instrumental in managing the organization’s internal structure. Since its inception, she has served on key committees, including SHOUT, ENGAGE, and the Kitchen Garden Kit Distribution Initiative—which provided sustainable food solutions for vulnerable families during the pandemic. Her dedication ensures that Recover Guyana runs smoothly, empowering communities through well-organized initiatives.

Mrs. Mahadevi Doobay-Girdhary – Director of Community Engagement
A true community champion, Mrs. Mahadevi Doobay-Girdhary leads social outreach programs, focusing on cancer awareness, mental health support, and holistic community development. She plays a key role in organizing Recover Guyana’s cancer awareness activities, bringing vital education, and support to those in need. Her compassionate leadership fosters meaningful engagement, making a lasting impact on countless lives.

This recognition by Lyndell Danzie-Black and Michelle Nicholas, through the 25 Influential Women Leaders Award, is a significant step toward increasing the visibility of women in leadership roles.
