BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
ACTIVITES
During October 2024, Recover Guyana led a series of impactful activities to raise awareness about breast cancer and provide support to survivors and communities. These initiatives, which emphasized education, wellness, and empowerment, reached a diverse audience across various locations, making a lasting impact on many lives.

Adventure Tours for Survivors
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we announce our new initiative: adventure tours for cancer survivors, made possible through the kind support with the Guyana Tourism Authority!
These tours offer survivors a unique opportunity to explore the breathtaking beauty of our country, reconnect with nature, and promote both physical and mental well-being.

PINKTOBER
PINK Sunflower
Recover Guyana’s Comprehensive Wellness and Well-being dialogue at the National Library was a vibrant and informative event, showcasing a wealth of expertise and experiences. The gathering featured a diverse group of speakers, including medical professionals, psychologists, and diplomats. Each speaker provided valuable insights on critical topics related to cancer care, awareness, and early detection.

Trip to Gobin’s Farm and Kitchen with Survivors
We had an incredible time exploring Gobin's Farm and Kitchen with seven courageous cancer survivors this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This adventure not only provided a beautiful setting but also created a space for connection, healing, and inspiration.

PINKtober in Santa Mission
To conclude Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our team at Recover Guyana dedicated a day to the vibrant community of Santa Aratack/Mission, located in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara Region of Guyana. This village, primarily inhabited by Lokono Amerindians, welcomed us warmly as we aimed to spread crucial awareness about breast cancer.

One Communications PINKTOBER Walk
Recover Guyana is proud to be a champion of hope for One Communications! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the walk. Your participation not only amplified awareness about critical health issues but also demonstrated the strength of our community in supporting one another. Together, we are making a difference and inspiring hope for those affected by cancer.

Green Hampers for Cancer Patients
Recover Guyana distributed fresh green baskets to the Oncology Department at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This marks our third year of providing nutritious hampers to cancer patients. Thank you to all our volunteers and sponsors for making a difference!
